About the Law Practice

       My job is to solve problems.

        I specialize in very small businesses, helping them avoid unnecessary risks and expenditures, helping them plan their legal and tax strategies, helping put out fires.

        My practice also is aimed at teaching very small business owners how to help themselves; to help them be aware of legal and practical problems and opportunities before they arise and deal with these without undue anxiety; to help unravel as many mysteries of law, taxes and business as I can; to help avoid law suits; to help limit costs; to simplify rather than to obscure.

       I believe that the marketing of the very small business should reflect the personalities and energies of its owners; that the prices set by the very small business should reflect what the owners think is fair, not what the market will bear or what other businesses charge.  And I give advice about those things too.

        I do not charge an hourly fee; I do not charge for advice or for reviewing documents, or for preparing most documents.  Each business pays a reasonable retainer, a sum of money which covers all of the work that is anticipated.  No uncertainty, no economic surprises.  I am a very small business and the financial aim of my practice is to make certain that there is a safe economic environment in which clients and I can conduct a business relationship.
